When I was growing up my grandmother made the best chocolate dumplings ever. Money was tight so I'm guessing this was pretty cheap to make. I was the youngest of three and was her buddy. I kinda hung with her a lot and learned from her cooking. I owe a lot of my cooking to her.


IP Chocolate Dumplings


Chocolate dumplings:

· 3 Tbsp vegetable oil

· 1 cup self-rising flour

· 3 Tbsp cocoa powder

· ¼ cup sugar

· ¾ cup water


Chocolate sauce:

· 1 ½ cups hot water

·1 cup light brown sugar

· 1/3 cup cocoa powder


1. Make the sauce first by mixing the hot water with the sugar and cocoa powder. Pour into the pot. 2. Set Pressure cooker to saute on low, and cook until bubbly and starts to thicken, Now place on warm. 3.To make the dumplings, place all the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the water and mix with a spoon. 4. Wet your hands and then form small balls from the dumpling mixture and drop them into the sauce. The mixture makes 12-14 small dumplings (remember they will grow as they cook). 5. Place lid on Pressure Cooker and set on Manual or (Pressure) at low Pressure for 10 minutes. and do a 10 minute NPR. Check dumplings with a skewer it should come out clean. If not do 2 more minutes and QR. 6. Serve warm with Cream or Ice Cream.
